How We Document

Every Rug Is Recorded Before It Is Washed

That is how a before-and-after is possible, and how you know exactly what we found.

1. Condition notes and photos

When your rug arrives at our plant we record its condition, including stains, wear and fringe.

2. Dye testing

We test color-fastness before any wet treatment. If anything puts the rug at risk, we tell you first.

3. Wash, dry and compare

After the 8-step wash and monitored drying, the finished rug is compared with where it started.

What to Expect for Your Own Rug

Photos show what is possible, but every rug is different. Fiber, age, dyes, the type of soil and how long it has been there all change the outcome. Heavy soil often lifts well. Permanent damage, such as sun fading, wear or a dye that urine or moisture has changed, may not fully return.

That is why we inspect and test first, give you an honest expectation before we wash, and re-clean at no charge if you are not satisfied on delivery. Prices start at $3.00 per square foot, with free pickup and delivery. See our pricing guide.

Get a Free Assessment of Your Rug

Four steps and we will tell you what to expect and what it costs.

  1. 1Take a photo. Photograph the whole rug, the back, and any stains, wear or fringe damage.
  2. 2Note the size and fiber. Measure the length and width, and tell us the fiber if you know it.
  3. 3Send it to us. Email the photos to scheduling@benchmarkrestores.com, or use the form on this page.
  4. 4Get your price range. We reply with a range and a pickup window. Your final price is confirmed after inspection.

Case Study Questions

Are these real rugs and real photos?

Yes. Every project here is a real rug we washed for a customer in Clark County or the Portland metro. Each card opens the full case study with its own photos. We do not publish customer names or street addresses.

Will my rug look like these?

Results depend on the rug’s fiber, age, dyes and how deep the soil or damage goes. We inspect and test your rug first, and we tell you what to expect before we wash it.

Do you document my rug the same way?

Yes. We record your rug’s condition with notes and photos when it arrives at our plant, and we test the dyes before washing.

Where were these rugs cleaned?

At our dedicated rug wash facility in Vancouver, WA. Rugs are picked up and delivered by our team, free within 35 miles.

What kinds of rugs do you wash?

Persian and Oriental, wool, silk, viscose, antique and heirloom, and synthetic rugs. See our pages for Persian and Oriental rugs and for wool, silk and antique rugs.

Can you remove pet odor and stains?

Often, yes. Many of these projects came from homes with pets. Pet odor treatment is priced additionally upon inspection, and if odor returns within 14 days, we re-treat at no charge.

How long does it take?

Typical turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from pickup, including 24 to 48 hours of monitored drying.

How do I get an assessment of my own rug?

Call (360) 696-4418, use the form on this page, or email photos to scheduling@benchmarkrestores.com with your rug size and fiber. We will give you a price range and confirm your pickup window.
