Our Methodology

The 8-Step Process Your Rug Goes Through

  1. 01

    Pre-Wash Inspection

We identify the fiber type (wool, silk or synthetic) and run color-fastness tests so dyes are not put at risk during washing.

  2. 02

    Dry Dust Extraction

Specialized machinery vibrates the back of the rug to dislodge dry, abrasive soil that vacuuming leaves behind.

  3. 03

    Pre-Conditioning

Targeted treatment for high-traffic areas and spills, or a bio-enzymatic treatment where pet urine is present.

  4. 04

    Submersion Hand Wash

The rug is fully submerged in a flowing pool of mild, pH-balanced cleanser chosen for its weave.

  5. 05

    Fresh Water Rinsing

Continuous flushing carries away suspended dirt and cleanser, leaving fibers soft and natural, never sticky.

  6. 06

    Centrifugal Extraction

The rug is spun in a centrifuge that removes most of the moisture in minutes, helping prevent color migration.

  7. 07

    Climate-Controlled Drying

The rug hangs in a temperature and humidity-monitored drying room, typically for 24 to 48 hours.

  8. 08

    Detailing & Delivery

Fringes are hand-washed, the pile is groomed, and the rug is rolled for its free trip home.

Why a Plant Wash Is Different

Fine rugs need more than surface cleaning. Here is how a plant wash typically compares.

Our Approach

Gentle on Fibers, Straightforward About Claims

  • Mild, pH-balanced, biodegradable cleansers, used as directed on the label.
  • A bio-enzymatic treatment only where pet urine is present, not as a routine step.
  • A fresh-water rinse that carries cleanser and loosened soil out of the rug.
  • Spot testing first, so we match the method to your rug’s fiber and dyes.
  • Honest wording: we do not make blanket “chemical-free” claims.
